We currently stock a wide variety of blow torches from a variety of brands including Sievert, Bullfinch, Rothenberger, Foker and Go-Gas.
Cartridge or Cylinder?
The first thing to decide on is if you are looking for a small handheld cartridge blow torch or the larger propane cylinder torches which connect to a large cylinder with a hose and regulator. We have cartridge torches available from Rothenberger and Go-Gas as well as the Sievert Powerjet range. The main advantage of these torches is the low upfront cost and the practicality of having a small torch that can be carried with ease. There are less options regarding power and flame shape than with the larger cylinder torches however.
Blow torches that run from a red propane cylinder need a hose and regulator. We tend to find that the propane cylinders cost less to run in the long-run compared to the cartridges. We have blow torches like this from Sievert, Bullfinch and Foker. They have a variety of burners available which means you can choose the power of the flame and also the shape of the flame in many cases, for example the Sievert Cyclone burners create a wide flame that can wrap around a pipe for brazing or soldering; On the other hand a pin-point burner would be good for cutting or melting small areas of metal.
Home Use
For use at home we find that some of our Sievert kits are very popular. We have a General Purpose Kit and a Jewellers Kit. The general purpose kit comes with a 2941 Burner which is rated at 7.7kw is 28mm wide. The jewellers kit comes with 8842 Lightline Burner, rated at 0.25kw and 9mm wide - the flame is extremely fine on this one and is for tiny detail work.
They feature interchangeable parts so that you can change the burners to suit your needs, please note that you may have to change the neck also when deciding on extra burners.
Roofing Blow Torches
These heavy duty torches feature a long neck and powerful windproof burners. They are commonly used for roofing, road works, melting snow and weed killing. Some of them also feature double or triple heads for greater coverage. See our range here.
