With winter approaching and the cost of living rising, you may be turning to portable gas heaters to spot heat rooms in your home. Now is the perfect time to discover the benefits of gas heaters. We'll outline a few in this article.
Cost Effective
If you want to keep your running costs low, cabinet heaters are perfect for spot heating rooms rather than the entire house, saving you from having to switch on the gas boiler. They will provide you with heat much quicker, in the most energy-efficient way possible, making them extremely economical.
Gas heaters also tend to be cheaper to run than electric heaters, keeping your energy bill at a minimum. With a range of heat settings, there is no reason why you will never have to feel the cold again!
They're safe
All our indoor gas heaters, regardless of price, are fitted with a flame failure device and oxygen depletion system. This means your heater will shut off should it fall over or if the oxygen levels drop to a dangerous level.
These features greatly reduce the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning or fire from a gas heater. We do recommend you invest in a carbon monoxide alarm to be used in conjunction with gas heaters.
As always, make sure you follow the manufacturer's guidelines and ensure your room is well-ventilated.
Ready to use
You don't need any special skills to assemble our Calor Gas cabinet heaters! They require no installation and minimal to no assembly.
Simply unpack the heater, use the regulator supplied and connect a butane gas cylinder to the heater and attach the back panel and you are ready to go. No chimneys or flues are required.
Easy to use
Indoor gas heaters are very easy to use. Most of the heaters have a piezo ignition that does not require batteries. To ignite, you twist and hold the ignition for around 20 seconds (you may have to try more than once for the heater to ignite).
The more expensive stove-type/living flame gas heaters are supplied with an electronic igniter and will require a battery to power them. They are much easier to use.
The heaters are also very portable and easy to move from room to room! All heaters incorporate caster wheels so you can glide them around the house effortlessly. Remember not to move your heater while in use.
They're extremely reliable
If you experience a power cut this winter, a reliable heat source is one less thing to worry about. Your gas heater will continue to effectively and efficiently heat your home, meaning you won't have to suffer through the cold while you wait for your power to come back on.
There is a wide range available
Nowadays, there is a wide range of Calor Gas heaters available to meet your every need. Blue flame heaters are more practical for smaller, insulated areas, so if you have a high ceiling, this type of heater may not be the best choice for you. Catalytic heaters are commonly used in shops, hospitals, garages and larger sites.
Living flame heaters are the next generation of portable gas heaters with more pleasing coal or log effect real flame burners. Not only do they look good, but they have an impressive heat output ranging from 1 kW to 3.4 kW.
Easily recognised by their glowing red panels, Infrared heaters are probably the most recognisable type of gas heater on the market today. These heaters tend to give out a stronger, more direct type of heat.
