Rinnai
Rinnai manufactures a wider range of continuous flow gas water heaters that are commonly used where higher hot water demand is required. For larger holiday accommodation, lodges or installations with multiple hot water outlets, a Rinnai water heater may be a suitable option.

Replacing an existing caravan water heater

Is a bigger water heater always better?
It is important you know the mains flow rate to gause the size of the heater. Not necessarily. A larger water heater provides a higher flow rate, but the right choice depends on your property's hot water demand. Choosing the correct size for your installation is more important than simply selecting the largest model available.
Can I replace my caravan water heater with a different brand?
In many cases, yes. However, you should always check the dimensions, flue arrangement, gas connections and installation requirements before replacing one manufacturer's appliance with another.
Do I need a new flue?
Always seek advice from your registered engineer. Some replacement water heaters require a compatible flue kit, while others may be compatible with an existing installation. Always check what's included with the appliance and refer to the manufacturer's guidance. We would recommend changing the flue with the appliance but seek your engineers advice.
Are these water heaters suitable for touring caravans?
Many LPG instantaneous water heaters are designed for static caravans and properties with a permanent cold water supply. Always check the manufacturer's instructions to confirm whether a particular model is suitable for your application.
Can I use a horizontal flue kit with the Ferroli / Innovita water heater?
The Innovita / Ferroli is a battery-operated non-room-sealed water heater. It draws in air from the base of the unit and feeds it through the burner, so it uses a single-skinned vertical flue that must go straight up and out. The flue on a non-room-sealed water heater cannot be adapted or extended.
The only type of water heater that can use a horizontal flue is a room-sealed water heater like the Rinnai 11i.
It uses a double-skinned balanced flue that draws in air from outside and recycles it. Room-sealed water heaters are not battery-operated; they need a standard 230V electrical connection for the ignition and frost protection, so if they are being used in a mobile caravan or motorhome, or off-grid with no electrical supply, you will need a 230V inverter.
