Recent LPG incidents have been linked to "aged gas regulators." Engineers are trained to treat old LPG regulators as "at risk" and issue warnings to users.
It is the responsibility of the gas engineer and indeed the user to ensure that their gas appliances and fittings are safe and a number of visual checks are be undertaken.
Things to look out for:
- Heavy corrosion
- No OPSO (Over Pressure Shut Off)
- Rusty Pigtail Ends
- No visible date
If your regulator shows any of these warning signs please do not use the appliance. You need to get a new regulator right away. You can view our wide range of regulators on our online store by clicking HERE.
Remember :
Regulators over 10 years old or where a date cannot be identified require exchange. Find out more HERE.
Regulators require OPSO to comply with codes of practice for cylinder installations. Find out more HERE
