Cadac offer different versions of the popular Safari Chef 2 BBQ, including a Low Pressure (LP) and a High Pressure (HP) version.
The Lite, Pro, and Ultimate models are also Low Pressure, so they work off gas cylinders such as Calor Gas. The operating pressure is 28-30mbar on butane or 37mbar on propane.
To use your Cadac Safari Chef 2 with a gas cartridge you will need to convert it from LP to HP.
You cannot convert Cadac Safari Chef 2 HP to LP.
Converting Safari Chef 2 LP, Lite & Ultimate to HP
To convert your LP Cadac BBQ to HP you will need a Cadac EN417 Regulator Assembly.
Simply screw onto the cartridge. The EN417 Regulator Assembly includes a hose and tailpiece.
The tailpiece fits a ¼" BSP left hand threaded gas cartridge.
Converting Safari Chef 2 Pro to HP
The Safari Chef 2 Pro QR comes with an integrated Cadac Quick Release Tailpiece, so to convert it to HP you will need a Cadac EN417 Regulator Assembly and some manual modification.
In detail, you will need to cut the connector of its end, attach the hose onto the hose nozzle on the BBQ and secure with a jubilee clip.
Please do a leak test before use.
